On the weekend I went to a castle in the countryside, well maybe more a nicely done huge building of an ex-landlord. Anyway it is some 70km away from Berlin and we went there to see a concert by Abdullah Ibrahim and the NDR Big Band. It was great. Wonderful musicians and Abdullah in best form. Oh for the one's that don't know him he is playing some kind of Jazz and comes from South Africa. I guess you'll find infos on the net with maybe some sample music. Listen! It's good music.
Than we spent the night in our sleeping backs nex to some lake and awoke in a nice and sunny morning, that we decided to ride back into Berlin all the way through Brandenburg not to forget to stop at a couple of lakes for some refreshment.

Ah, and I'm fine preparing the next exam, working on a project, working for a software company and trying to spent as much time as poss. with Anna

Take care, Gerd.

On the weekend I went clubbing at Sunny for some breakbeats and deep house. NuBreed and Infusion were the main drawcards. I used to go pretty faithfully a couple of years ago, but this was my first foray out in 18 months. Still, I found my groove pretty quickly and it was a good night with a great crowd. For those not familiar, the indigenous dance move is known (lamely) as the Melbourne Shuffle - video of a "shuffle expo" from last year is available here, and a guide to the basics is here. I didn't know it was such a distinctive dance step, but there you go.

I've started teaching for this semester. I'm now getting a whole new generation of students fired up about the importance of prime numbers, and the central role they play in our society's information economy.
