Usage of this blog seems to have dropped off a bit... slackers! Gerd and Theresa have gone to sydney today. It's lovely weather. Tonight Taj goes to India so we're all a bit sad. I'm gonna cook dinner but it might just be for myself! Mazza
Hi there - not much to report except that I made a complete pig of myself at brekkie at the Tin Pot. Also, I did a shoulder stand in yoga. I love this gorgeous weather - Marie
Marie DID make a yummy risotto - mmm, tasty. Re: the monitoring. It does seem a bit slow, but I guess that's because it's a free internet monitoring site that we're using: you get what you pay for (eg. Geocities webhosting or Hotmail webmail are always going to be crapper than if you pay for it). With my IE it doesn't hamper the functionality of the page - you can still see content and follow links. Should be the same for NS. Anyway, it'll give us some hard numbers when we go to deal with the advertisers about putting some banner ads on here.
BTW, well done on the linking Gerd! For the others, the trick is to select the text you want hyper-linked, and then hit the button to the left of the B that looks like a circle with an infinity sign on it. Then, you get prompted to put in the URL. Anyway, enough HTML tutorial. I'm cooking dinner tonight - let's see what I come up with after a trip to the supermarket!
Oh yeah, more news: Taj has booked a ticket to India, and will be departing these shores on Thursday, 27th of September.
Last item: I'm going out tomorrow night with some old Uni mates, and then may be going to Frantic afterwards, a party at The Palace nightclub.
Well I've checked the link but the recent events have resulted in a discontinue of the website. The only thing you'll find there is a message of G. W. Bush.
I just want to say hello. There is actually nothing I can contribute to the blog today, besides that Marie has made a Yummie dinner tonight.
Ah, before I forget, if someone's interested there is a website with infos on skyscrapers in the world (past, present, future). It's Skyscrapers.
Greg, I don't mind monitoring but it's breaking down the speed a lot. It takes ages to open this simple webpage without any pics'n'stuff. So it would be nice if you could check this. Not everyone has a highspeed internet connection...
At dinner last night, I foolishly alerted my parents to the fact that we have a website, so be prepared for scrutiny... (not that there's anything wrong with that! ahem.) Hello to all those overseas, hope you read this sometimes - Marie
Marie and I saw The Bank last night - satisfying Australian movie about a maths genius being exploited by ruthless Gordon Gecko-style bank CEO. Lots of nice pictures of the Mandelbrott Set. This was, of course, part of the date-night proceedings.
Just had lunch with some old school friends - Sabine, Jonny, Alicia, Rickie and Brett - in Brunswick St. Doing a bit of "research" at the moment, and then heading off to Marie's parents' for dinner. My Mum and Dad will be in town tomorrow, so we'll go out to dinner with them, and Katy and David.
In garden news, the tulips are out, stand by for photos. (Well - I think it's newsworthy!) Tonight Greg is going drinking at Manchester Lane and Marie is going drinking at Yeltza. Tomorrow night, Marie and Greg go on Date Night. Will Marie persuade Greg to see the Brigid Jones Diary? Stay tuned...
What a day. I got up late and endet up watching TV. So many people dead and who knows, what will be the US replay on this. I think here we have a point which is frightening. But maybe, the US will not find out who did it.
Who can do something like that. I don't know.
Anyway, lets wayt for some news.
Theresa
Yay - curry (or whatever it will morph into) sounds good.
Art thingy - 11:30am Thursday? Sounds fine. I have a tutors' meeting at 2pm, so will two hours suffice?
NB: I've invited Rickie, Taj and Gopi around for dinner on Thursday, so I will be cooking up a storm. Maybe chorizo napoli pasta with chorizo sausage and spinach? Still awaiting confirmation from the invitees. Oh yeah, drinks on Friday but you've no doubt seen the email already.
-Greg.
ps. I see I'm the only one here who has mastered inserting hyperlinks. Common guys - it's hypertext!
I think it's time for me to join you now and think about something intelligent to write down. Definetly this blogger is very useful. This way I realiced that Neal is cooking tonight. That was one thing me and Gerd wanted to know. Ok, I could have gone next door and ask. But this is not that much fun, is it? (-:
About the exhibition you want to go to: Annika and me went there last Saturday and I can recommend it. The painting made by Penoir, Cezanne and Monet are very nice, as usual but Picasso is not the painter I prefer. Take care about Chaim Soutine (-:. Some of his paintings are ... special. Good thing to go there within the week. But are you shure about getting up that early?
See you later.
hey there< I am back from a wonderful day in the sun at falls creek. (-:
I will be cooking up a curry tonight so iHope you are all going to be present... It won't bee as good as Theresa's lasagne but it will be food... We should send Fifi a link to the the blogger so she can stay upt to date with the going on's with the house, What do you all think..
We've had a wonderful dinner party with our friends from Melbourne last Saturday. Theresa has made a delicious VegieLasagne and for desert we've had some Mousse au Chocolate. Ah, and of course our throats haven't been dry... Neal who had to work that night joined for some of the nice food only Greg and Marie missed out. What a shame. I do have to admit: We had a great night.
Anyway, Thursday - Renoir to Picasso around 11.30 am, o.k.?
Hi guys - don't know if I'll make it to mexican tonight but perhaps you could go and have a fajita for me. Fri night I'm going to drinkypoos, not sure what else is happening this weekend! Marie

I got an email from Nicole, Taj's fiancee in Canada. Turns out she's been running a blog for a while now, so in the spirit of cross-blog promotions, you can visit it here:
Other news ... I hear from Neal that Paddy is off visiting his beloved Kate in NT for three weeks. I'm probably having drinks this Friday with Ivan et al. Sunday lunch is shaping up with Sabine and Alicia. And I need to pick a night this week to have my old housemate from Elgin St, Gopi, around for dinner. He's visiting Australia in preparation for his impending immigration here with his wife (!) and child (!!).
Also, I've put web tracking on these pages, so we should be able to find out who's reading this, as well as who's posting ... (hint hint, Theresa!)
Hi Greg, everything on the net, he... I do hope we still have some talk in the house.
To All, there's a party on Saturday. Theresa is cooking and some friends are expected. So I hope you can make it and delight us with your presence. G'Day Gerd
Yay! Now that we have an online journal we won't have to talk anymore! But seriously, Greg if you're online, Gerd and Neal are going to noodles tonight but I'm going to stay home. Hope to see ya later on - Marie
This blog serves as a sort of living history of the sharehouse, by allowing us to share messages with each other. It may also be of interest to our friends and family, as well as future historians ;-)
So, first some background. We live in a townhouse in Brunswick East, near CERES, between the No. 96 tramline and Merri Creek. It's part of a new development of some 15 yuppie dogboxes that's about a year old.
We got the place on February 8th, 2001. Greg , Marie and Neal shared a house together for two years in Elgin St, Carlton. As Greg and Marie were going out by this stage, they started looking for a house and invited Neal to live with them too. Then, in April, we found our fouth housemate, Gerd, a likely lad from Germany. Since then, we've had some visitors and guests. Theresa - Gerd's girlfriend from Germany - joined our household a couple of weeks ago.
